/PRNewswire/ -- The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation will host its annual Fall Ramble Friday-Sunday, Sept. 10-12, in Atlanta, where guests will have the opportunity to tour more than 25 historic properties not usually open to the public.
During the weekend, 'Ramblers' will tour grand private homes in Inman Park, Ansley Park, and Grant Park. Ramblers will also discover the rich heritage of Sweet Auburn Avenue, and enjoy special tours of the Fox Theatre, St. Luke's Episcopal Church, and other Midtown landmarks.
Ramblers will begin the weekend Friday night at Rhodes Hall, headquarters of The Georgia Trust and one of the last remaining mansions on Peachtree Street, with a special reception and a behind-the-scenes tour.
On Saturday morning, Ramblers will enjoy breakfast and an orientation at historic St. Luke's Episcopal Church, where its gorgeous windows were created and installed over a sixty year period and were the work of three world renowned stained glass studios.
Saturday afternoon Ramblers will enjoy a luncheon at Inman Park United Methodist, a Romanesque style church completed in 1898, while exploring residential gems in Atlanta's oldest neighborhoods. That evening guests will experience a rare opportunity to dine at the exclusive East Lake Golf Club, the home course of legendary golfer Bobby Jones.
Sunday's Ramble will begin with a delicious brunch at Oakland Cemetery, the final resting place of many Atlanta notables, followed by a tour of beautifully restored Victorian homes in Grant Park. The tour will conclude with an exploration of Sweet Auburn, birthplace of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement.
Check-in and registration for the Fall Ramble will be on Friday, Sept. 10, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Rhodes Hall, 1516 Peachtree Street NW, and at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11.

Hay House Presents Macon Gardens, Mansions & Moonlight
/PRNewswire/ -- Hay House will host Macon Gardens, Mansions & Moonlight Friday-Sunday, April 30 - May 2, 2010. Central Georgia's premier home and garden event includes tours of private gardens and historic homes, a free garden market on the Hay House grounds, and free seminars by nationally recognized guest speaker Tara Dillard. Macon Gardens, Mansions & Moonlight has received numerous designations as a "Top Twenty Event" by the Southeast Tourism Society.
The venerable Secret Gardens Tour (Friday-Sunday) is now in its 17th year and will feature five large gardens in North Macon. The romantic Moonlight Tour (Friday and Saturday evenings only) will feature loft homes in Downtown Macon. The Historic Homes Tour (Saturday and Sunday afternoons) will highlight four (4) homes in the North Highlands and Shirley Hills historic districts.

Tickets are available in advance and throughout the event weekend in person at Hay House. Tickets may be purchased on-line at www.HayHouse.org. An order form can also be downloaded and printed from this website and faxed to 478-745-4277 or mailed to Hay House, 934 Georgia Avenue, Macon GA 31201. Special advance ticket prices are available for the Combination Tour, Secret Garden Tour, and Historic Home Tour before April 29th. St. Vincent's Annual Historic Tour of Homes and Tea on October 17
St. Vincent’s Academy Annual Historic Tour of Homes and Tea to benefit the historic preservation of the original 1845 Convent building will be presented by St. Joseph’s/ Candler on Saturday, October 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Often referred to as “the best tour in Savannah,” this self-guided tour of homes will encompass nine residences in the Savannah Historic District. The Convent will also be host to a tea. St. Vincent’s Academy students will serve a delicate repast of tea, homemade confections and traditional tea sandwiches.
The tour hours are 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 17. You can purchase tickets online starting August 1, 2009 until noon on Friday, October 16 at www.svatourofhomes.com or by calling 912.819.7780. The tickets will be held at Will Call to be picked up on the day of the tour at the Tour Ticket Office (Walsh Hall at St. Vincent’s, located at the corner of Lincoln and Harris Streets in downtown Savannah).
